Présentation de Amélie

At the LNS, various areas of expertise come together to ensure highly precise analyses.

A Profession Serving Patients

As both a laboratory technician and quality referent, Amélie plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the analyses performed at the LNS.

Her work is particularly essential in newborn screening, a program designed to detect rare diseases in newborns through a simple heel-prick blood test performed at the maternity ward from the third day of life.
The collected sample, placed on a special filter paper, is then sent to the LNS, where a rigorous analysis process begins—one in which Amélie plays a key role.

As a technician, she relies on both her expertise and cutting-edge equipment to analyze samples with the highest precision, ensuring reliable results. She frequently uses mass spectrometry, a technique that determines the mass of molecules or molecular associations, allowing for the extremely precise identification of biochemical abnormalities and ensuring trustworthy results.

Rigorous Quality Standards

As a quality coordinator, Amélie ensures that every step of the analytical process meets ISO 15189 accreditation standards, an international benchmark guaranteeing the technical competence and reliability of medical laboratories. Her role also includes:

  • Implementing internal and external quality controls to ensure result reliability.
  • Preparing annual audits and following up on continuous improvement actions with her team.
