• Newborn screening

  • Genetics and genomic medicine

Genetics and genomic medicine help us better understand the origin of certain diseases and identify possible genetic predispositions. At the LNS, genetic analyses contribute to the diagnosis of rare diseases and certain cancers, the assessment of familial risks, and the guidance and monitoring of treatments. Specialised consultations also support patients and families in understanding the results and their implications.

  • Infectious diseases and microbiology

Infectious diseases are caused by microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria or fungi. At the LNS, our teams detect and identify them using specialised analyses in order to better understand infections, support diagnosis and adapt patient care.

We also contribute to the surveillance of infectious diseases in Luxembourg, particularly respiratory viruses, HIV and hepatitis, in order to help protect public health.
